WORKSHOPS

As a former Head of Art with many years of teaching experience, I continue to share my passion for ceramics through a range of clay workshops for adults and students. My teaching focuses on helping people build confidence, develop new skills, and understand the creative possibilities of clay. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced maker, my workshops offer hands‑on learning in a supportive, engaging environment.  Teaching remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work, and I’m committed to creating spaces where people can learn, experiment, and develop confidence in their own making.

I specialise in clay decoration techniques, particularly printing onto clay, surface design, and decorative processes that integrate directly into the making stage. My workshops emphasise the transfer of knowledge — understanding materials, exploring tools, and learning techniques that make decoration an intrinsic part of the ceramic process. Participants learn how to create expressive surfaces, apply layered imagery, and use printmaking methods to bring their ideas to life in clay.

These workshops are ideal for anyone searching for ceramics classes, clay printing workshops, surface decoration masterclasses, or creative pottery sessions that go beyond basic hand‑building. I regularly teach adults with a passion for clay, as well as students in schools who are keen to explore contemporary ceramic techniques.

Placing surface design at the centre of the making process, I help participants to understand why processes work and how to adapt them to their own ideas in order to encourage decoration to become expressive, and intentional.

Whether you’re curious about screen-printing, monoprinting, underglaze transfers, layered surface design, or building a personal visual language in clay, my workshops offer hands‑on guidance and plenty of space to explore.

I offer one‑to‑one and two‑person workshops in my home studio, available as half‑day or full‑day sessions. I also teach one‑day workshops in other studios, two‑day masterclasses, and I’m happy to travel to deliver teaching across the UK, Ireland and further afield.

If you’re interested in booking a workshop, discussing a tailored session, arranging a school visit, or hosting a masterclass in your studio, please get in touch — I’d love to help you explore the creative potential of clay.
